It is located opposite the monastery of the same name. It was a natural fortress and it had a secret exit to the nearby hill. It is there that the inhabitants took refuge during the difficult years of pirate raids in the 7th century. In fact, the castle became well-known due to its coming under siege by the infamous pirate Barbarossa.
According to legend it is impregnable.
Nowadays, the ruins of edifices and reservoirs remain, and access to the fortress is especially difficult.
